An AWS Certified AI Practitioner, Mehmet has given 30+ talks at events such as DevFest, Google I/O Extended and Build with AI, reaching more than 5,000 developers across 15+ cities. His talks cover LLMs in the enterprise, RAG, Gemma and Gemini, Spring AI for Java teams, and the economics of AI tokens.
Mehmet Karakose is a software engineer and tech lead working at the intersection of AI and real businesses. He has worked in both startups and large companies on Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, cloud (AWS, GCP) and microservice architectures. He has been a core team organizer of GDG Izmir since 2015 and of GDG Cloud Izmir since 2019, helping run DevFest conferences with more than 2,500 participants. He has given 30+ talks on stages such as DevFest, Google I/O Extended, Build with AI and TechDay, reaching more than 5,000 developers in 15+ cities from Istanbul to Dubai. His talks cover LLMs in the enterprise, multimodal RAG, open models (Gemma), Spring AI for Java teams, and AI token economics for keeping LLM costs under control. He holds the AWS Certified AI Practitioner and Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certifications and writes technical articles on Medium. He graduated in engineering from Yasar University and won first prize in Vestel's "Design Your Venus" competition.
